The square acanthus-leaved capitals at the top of Robert  Adam’s  Kenwood House were failing due to iron corrosion.  ASC Ltd. was asked to take a silicone rubber mould of one, cast it in plaster, fully restore it, and then re-mould it. This scope of works also included several variations of the pilaster capital, including half, three quarter, and full corner units.

As a lightweight option, these 900mm square pieces were manufactured from hollow Glass Reinforced Concrete (GRC) and delivered ready for decoration; we also replaced the pilaster bases in the exact same fashion.

In addition to these works, we  restored and produced a “lamb’s tongue” moulding to run around the front gable on the north side of the building.
